Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) 2012, all schools built before 2000 have a duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises. All staff must receive training to understand the presence of asbestos and competent staff must know how to report the disturbance of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) effectively.

Asbestos Awareness Training informs attendees about the processes and responsibilities around the management of asbestos within school premises. Participants learn about the types of asbestos and the health risks posed by exposure to asbestos.

Asbestos Awareness training covers:

  • Where Asbestos maybe found.
  • How it might be disturbed.
  • Actions to take in the event of disturbance.
  • What information should be held on site and who should be given access to this information.

This course is aimed at Premises Managers, Caretakers, Office staff, and Headteachers or members of the Senior Leadership Team.
