It was felt that many incidents are logged under one of the violence categories and by having dysregulated as an individual category it helps to better identify young people with dysregulated attributes as an underlying factor rather than having an incident selected under one of the violent categories, and then having to dig down to see what the root cause was. When reporting a significant incident on EEC, Dysregulation has now been added to the list of ‘Agents Involved’.

The data capture form has also been updated with a dysregulation tick box in the “What happened – kind of incident” section. This form can be printed up and copies left with your main first aid kit or in the office EEC Accident Report – Data Collection Form
