Did you know all Maintained Schools can access the CLEAPPS data base of student safety and lesson guides for science, technology, art and design?
CLEAPSS resources give teachers ideas for exciting and engaging practical activities that fire pupils’ imaginations and then, unlike many other sources of ideas, go on to show teachers and technicians in detail how to translate the ideas into safe and exciting experiences in the classroom. CLEAPSS advice and documentation is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive and the Department for Education.
The site has three sections:
CLEAPSS Primary Site
Information for primary teachers of science, technology, art and design. It includes teaching ideas, doing things safely, primary competition and leadership guidance.
CLEAPSS Science Site
Information for science teachers and technicians on all aspects of secondary science, including bulletins, HazCards and practical procedures.
CLEAPSS Technology Site
Information for teachers and managers of resistant materials, textiles, food, art and design and construction. There are project ideas, model risk assessments, FutureMinds newsletter and management guidance.
