Somerset Council’s occupational health (OH) provider for schools has changed from Medigold Health to Insight Workplace Health, effective April 1, 2025. Insight Workplace Health is one of the UK’s leading occupational health providers, helping organisations promote and maintain the physical, mental and social wellbeing of their employees in all occupations. They advise on employees’ health at work and the impact of work on their health.
Schools that are part of the council or purchase services through Support Services for Education are affected by this change. Occupational Health is available to Somerset Council maintained schools as a Core Service (please note that additional charges will arise if additional bespoke or supplementary services are recommended, and you as the referring manager agrees to this additional course of action following an initial referral). Occupational Health is available to Academy Schools as a chargeable service. An initial set up fee is charged related to staff headcount; services are then charged as a pay-as-you-go service.
Training on how to make a referral to Insight Workplace Health is available via the online referral portal: Orchid Live Portal Training. A PO number is not required when making referrals to Insight Workplace Health.
