As part of the Council’s policy review programme, the Health and Safety Service has published updated policies on the Health and Safety Internet site for employees and elected members.
The following policies were reviewed:
- HS23 Electrical Equipment Policy (supporting Guidance available)
- HS28 Noise at Work Policy (supporting Guidance available)
- HS32 Managing Contractors Policy (supporting Guidance available)
Although the language and structure have been refined, the Council’s fundamental arrangements, responsibilities, and established risk management practices remain unchanged.
A key improvement is the clear separation of policy and guidance. Each policy now sits in its own dedicated document, with all related guidance provided separately. Updated supporting materials such as forms and templates are also available to improve usability.
Where these policies apply to your service area, managers and employees are asked to review their responsibilities to ensure ongoing compliance.
